TechLine Connections: Meet Algie Martin
Algie Martin is one of those people who generates a positive, uplifting vibe whenever you are around him. As branch manager of TechLine Mfg.’s Houston Regional Service Center in La Porte, TX, Algie wears many hats. From driving the forklift to stow away inventory to making sales calls to local supply companies, to working with logistics companies to deliver our products to customers, Martin, along with two other employees in La Porte, provide great service. Martin joined the company in 2016 as a warehouse manager at this location.
Since Covid-19 arrived, everyone has changed how they go about their daily lives, and it is no different for Martin. He says the staff is maintaining social distancing and has increased the cleaning protocol at the warehouse. They deal a little differently with the carrier/logistics partners, making sure they are following all state and federal guidelines for safety during this pandemic. At home, Martin helps his eight-year-old son with his academic work a little more often, since school has gone virtual. Still, Martin is upbeat. He says everything is still operating normally at the warehouse. According to him, “We want everyone to know that we are operating at full capacity. We are here to make sure our customers’ orders are being handled in a timely fashion and that we will continue to meet all their needs.”
